Workshop on Open Innovation in Services - Presentations available

Workshop on Open Innovation in Services - Call for Proposals - Now Open

The Programme on Regional Innovation is organising a two day workshop titled 'Open Innovation in Services' on Wednesday 10th and Thursday 11th December 2008.

This event is being organised by the Programme on Regional Innovation, Cambridge-MIT Institute Partnership Programme (CMIPP) and is designed for an invited audience from business, academia and the policy community. The Workshop will explore the challenges and benefits of developing open innovation systems in the service, public and third sectors. The workshop will take place at the Moller Centre in Cambridge.

The main themes of the workshop are as follows:
1. Creative Industries
2. The Dark Side of Innovation
3. Innovation in the Public Sector
4. Innovation in the Third Sector
5. University-Business Knowledge Exchange
6. Open and Closed Innovation
7. Information Communication Technologies (ICT)

Call for Proposals
The workshop is open to graduate students and young researchers. If you wish to attend, please apply by sending a one page statement of your research interests together with a short bio (1 page) to pri@cmi.cam.ac.uk by Monday 20th October 2008. Please also state which session you would like to participate in and why.

Attendance to the workshop and refreshments during the workshop is provided free thanks to sponsorship of the event by Dynamics of Institutions and Markets in Europe (DIME). Delegates will need to cover their own transportation costs to and from the workshop, and accommodation costs whilst in Cambridge.

Call for EC Tender

The DG Enterprise and Industry recently published a call for tender for a study on incentives for the increased commercialisation of unused patents
(Call for tender no. 202852-2008 (ENTR 08/043))

This call for tender is launched in the framework of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Work Programme 2008 and Innovation Framework Programme.

The deadline for the submission of tenders is 12th September 2008.
